Chief Programs Officer

Emma Shockley serves as Chief Programs Officer at Climate Cardinals, the world’s largest youth-led climate nonprofit, with 16,000 volunteers in 130+ countries.

She is a co-founder of Rhizome, a youth-led organization that grew from an all-volunteer team to a staffed nonprofit with a dedicated budget, six employees, and nationwide programming. Previously, she served as Climate Cardinals’ Director of International Recruitment and as an external strategy consultant, where she led team development, organizational restructuring, and the hiring of the first Executive Director.

Driven by her firsthand experience with climate impacts in Florida, Emma is committed to advancing innovative, data-driven solutions for a more just and sustainable future.

She graduated magna cum laude with highest honors from the University of Pennsylvania, where she held multiple student government and sustainability leadership roles.
