Climate Cardinals Unveils the Future: Announcement from the Chief Programs Officer
Vancouver, BC — May 5, 2026 — Climate Cardinals, one of the world’s largest climate education organizations, has announced the launch of its formalized global Fellowship Program, designed to train 30 leaders annually from frontline communities.
In under six years, the Forbes 30 Under 30 nonprofit has grown from a $500 high school project into a global climate education organization, mobilizing 19,000+ volunteers, activating 122+ chapters, and partnering with leading companies including Google, Zoom, and monday.com.
“We’re announcing this at Web Summit because solving the climate crisis requires everyone,” said Chief Programs Officer Emma Shockley. “We’ve long focused on bridging the gap between the private and nonprofit sectors to break the language barrier and ensure climate resilience for all.”
With support from partners, the Fellowship will equip 30 youth leaders each year with expert-led workshops and hands-on experience working alongside Climate Cardinals’ executive team over the course of an academic year.
Climate Cardinals will also convene mentors and workshop facilitators from its corporate partners and invite other companies to join.
As expectations evolve, more companies are exploring how to contribute meaningfully to climate solutions. Collaborations like those with Climate Cardinals highlight how cross-sector partnerships can expand access, build capacity, and support the next generation of climate leaders.
Attendees are encouraged to connect directly with Emma Shockley via the Web Summit app or schedule meetings through the Web Summit platform.
