Welcome to Climate Cardinals. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Climate Cardinals website at www.climatecardinals.org and any webpages, content, forms, or other online services made available through the website (collectively, the “Website”).

Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

1. About Climate Cardinals

Climate Cardinals is an organization that breaks the language barrier in the climate movement so every community can take action and protect their future, with a goal of climate resilience for all.

Climate Cardinals is currently fiscally sponsored by Future Incubator, a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, EIN 33-3913132.

Climate Cardinals has also incorporated as an independent nonprofit entity, Climate Cardinals, Inc., EIN 42-4291522, and is in the process of seeking recognition of its tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3). Climate Cardinals will continue operating under its current fiscal sponsorship structure until the applicable organizational, financial, and operational transition is completed.

References in these Terms to “Climate Cardinals,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to Climate Cardinals and, as applicable during the transition period, the entities through which its activities are legally administered.

2. Donations and Fiscal Sponsorship

Unless expressly stated otherwise, tax-deductible charitable contributions to Climate Cardinals are currently received and administered through Future Incubator as Climate Cardinals’ fiscal sponsor.

The incorporation of Climate Cardinals, Inc. does not mean that contributions made directly to Climate Cardinals, Inc. are currently eligible for a charitable deduction. Donors should follow the donation instructions provided on our official Donate page.

Donation eligibility, deductibility, and tax treatment may depend on a donor’s individual circumstances and applicable law. Nothing on the Website constitutes tax, legal, or financial advice. Donors should consult their own professional advisers when appropriate.

3. Use of the Website

You may use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You agree not to:

• use the Website in violation of any applicable law or regulation;

• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website, its servers, accounts, databases, or systems;

• interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of the Website;

• introduce viruses, malware, malicious code, or other harmful technology;

• scrape, harvest, or systematically collect information from the Website through automated means except as permitted by law or with our written authorization;

• impersonate Climate Cardinals or another person or organization;

4. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, the Website and its original content, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, research, reports, designs, branding, and other materials, are owned by or licensed to Climate Cardinals and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may access, download, and share publicly available materials for personal, educational, journalistic, or other noncommercial purposes where permitted by law, provided that you do not materially alter the content or misrepresent its source and provide appropriate attribution to Climate Cardinals where applicable.

Certain research, educational materials, translations, datasets, or other resources may be made available under separate licenses or usage terms. Where separate terms are provided, those terms govern your use of those materials.

You may not use Climate Cardinals’ name, logos, trademarks, or other brand assets for commercial, fundraising, promotional, or endorsement purposes without prior written permission.

5. User Submissions and Forms

The Website may allow you to submit information through forms, applications, surveys, contact forms, event registrations, volunteer applications, chapter applications, grant applications, or similar features.

You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate and that you have the right to provide it.

Submitting information through the Website does not guarantee acceptance into a program, receipt of funding, participation in an event, a volunteer position, employment, partnership, or any other opportunity.

Where additional terms, eligibility requirements, application rules, grant agreements, participation agreements, or program policies apply, those terms will govern in addition to these Terms.

6. Volunteer, Fellowship, Chapter, Grant, and Other Programs

Information on the Website regarding Climate Cardinals programs is provided for general informational purposes.

Participation in a Climate Cardinals program may be governed by additional agreements, codes of conduct, safeguarding requirements, grant terms, volunteer policies, employment agreements, or other program-specific rules.

Climate Cardinals may modify program structures, eligibility requirements, timelines, funding levels, activities, or availability when reasonably necessary.

Nothing on the Website creates an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, fiduciary, or contractual relationship unless such a relationship is established through a separate written agreement.

7. Children and Young People

Climate Cardinals works with young people around the world. Certain programs may be open to individuals under the age of 18.

Where required, participation by minors may be subject to parental or guardian consent, safeguarding procedures, eligibility requirements, or additional program-specific terms.
