This Privacy Policy explains how Climate Cardinals collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit www.climatecardinals.org (the "Website"), sign up for our newsletter, fill out a form, donate, or contact us. Climate Cardinals, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in New York. It is currently a fiscally sponsored project of Future Incubator. In this policy, "Climate Cardinals," "we" and "us" refer to Climate Cardinals. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].

  • Newsletter sign-ups: your email address.

  • Donations: your name, email, donation amount and billing details. Payments are processed by our donation platform and its payment processors. We do not store full card numbers.

  • Messages: anything you include when you email us.

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic technical data, such as browser type, device, approximate location, pages visited and referring website.

  • Cookies and similar technologies, used to run the Website, remember your choices and understand how the Website is used. You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner and your browser settings.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Send our newsletter and updates you ask for.

  • Review applications and coordinate volunteers, chapters, fellows and translation requests.

  • Process donations and send receipts.

  • Respond to messages and partnership requests.

  • Understand and improve the Website and our programs.

  • Keep the Website secure and meet legal and reporting obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted providers to run the Website and our work. They process information on our behalf or under their own privacy policies. They include:

  • Squarespace (website hosting and forms)

  • Brevo (newsletter and email)

  • Raisely and its payment processors (donations)

  • monday.com and Google Workspace (forms, applications and records)

  • Google Analytics, Hotjar and Cloudflare (website analytics, performance and security)

5. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:

  • With the service providers listed above, to run our work.

  • With our fiscal sponsor, where needed for donation processing, accounting or compliance.

  • With partners, only when you ask us to or agree to it, for example when you apply to a joint program.

  • When required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our community.

6. Young People

Many people in our community are young. The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Website. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Programs that involve participants under 18 follow our child safeguarding policy and any program-specific terms.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law. Newsletter contacts stay on our list until they unsubscribe.

8. Your Choices and Rights

  • Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of each email.

  • Ask to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing [email protected].

  • Depending on where you live, including the European Union, the United Kingdom and some U.S. states, you may have additional rights, such as objecting to certain uses or asking us to limit them. We will respond to requests as the law requires.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect personal information, including restricted access to internal systems. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
