Alexa Theodoropoulos
Director of Climate Calling
Alexa Theodoropoulos is a teenage climate advocate, an undergraduate student at Brown University studying Environmental Science, and a director at Climate Cardinals, the world’s largest youth-led climate organization.
She started at Climate Cardinals as one of the first leaders of its chapters program, which encompasses over 200 chapters across the globe. She has also previously served as the director of Climate Cardinals’ Instagram team, reaching 4.2 million users each month. She currently runs Climate Calling, which connects 70,000 youth leaders with climate organizations, like the UNESCO and Climate Reality Project, reaching young leaders around the world. She has hosted events for Climate Cardinals in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program at the United Nations Headquarters, has spoken for the World Health Organization, and has been one of the representatives for Climate Cardinals at Harvard, the White House, the Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Senate, the United Nations Association of the United States of America, and many more.
Outside of Climate Cardinals, she has worked at NASA, where she was one of two selected from around 12,000 applicants (including PhD and graduate degree holders) and was the youngest person to work at their climate center. She has also received special recognition from their director, been a delegate for various United Nations conferences like the Conferences of the Parties (COPs) on climate change and biodiversity, spoken for students at Harvard and MIT via the United Nations Association of Greater Boston, and more. At college, she enjoys leading the Filipino Alliance, the Southeast Asian Studies Initiative, and the Mixed Asian-Pacific Islander Students’ Heritage Club, as well as being a leader in student government and curating TEDx talks for an audience of over 40 million.
