Daisy Atino
Regional President: Sub-saharan Africa
My name is Daisy Atino. I am a creative, media professional, and climate literacy champion. Originally from Uganda, I am currently based in Nairobi, Kenya.
I have over five years of experience as a digital journalist, with a keen passion for climate education specifically breaking down complex environmental topics into digestible bits.
It is out of this passion and alignment that I became part of Climate Cardinals. I joined in March last year and currently serve as the Regional President for Sub-Saharan Africa.
I believe in Climate Cardinals’ mission of empowering the youth and the global majority especially non-English speakers to lead climate solutions by translating climate information into over 100 languages.
This is because inclusivity is essential in making climate information more widely available and that ensures no one is left behind in the fight for a sustainable future.
Another aspect of Climate Cardinals that stands out to me is its investment in youth leadership and uplifting young voices in climate spaces.
This is achieved through programs like the Youth Fellows, which provides mentorship and skills to the next generation of climate leaders, and Climate Calling, a digital hub connecting 70,000+ young people with climate-related opportunities.
